Hearing-Aid and Cochlear-Implant Technologies

Professor Erika Zettner

This presentation will focus on current hearing-aid technology, indications for hearing aids, and benefits that can be expected. Further discussion will review limitations of hearing aids, which can be overcome with accessories in some situations and cochlear implants in others.

Instructor: Erika Zettner received a PhD at the University of Washington in 1999 and was Assistant Professor at Ohio University until 2004. She then came to UC San Diego’s Department of Surgery to co-direct the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Audiology. As Clinical Professor, she has teaching responsibilities and maintains an active clinic schedule.
